Directors Cut

Beginning our seventh year as a club, BHR members are as active as we have ever been. Even though our membership fell slightly, the quality of the people who make up our club remains superior. In 2016, we rode every weekend the weather permitted. General Club Meetings are still being held every 3rd Friday of the month at the T.K. Club. Members also gather at a different designated restaurant on the 2nd Saturday of each month for dinner and socializing. Along with all the riding and fun we had last year, we also made contributions to Operation Yellow Ribbon, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 899, Friends of the Burlington County Animal Shelter, Burlington County Animal Alliance and Saint Vincent DePaul's Food Drive.

This year, our intent is to ride often and match or exceed all the fun we had last year. Our plan is to support the same good charities. We are very excited to start this year by hosting a fundraiser to benefit Operation Yellow Ribbon on March 11th. This is the first fundraising event we’ve hosted since 2012, and we are looking forward to its success. Plans are already underway as members are booking their reservations for the 30th Annual Rolling Thunder Ride in Washington DC during Memorial Day weekend. More adventures await at the Annual Club Campout in August at Wading Pines Camping Resort. You can count on us having a variety of rides each weekend. Some of the rides will be to member’s favorite places. However, if this year is anything like the past, you can expect many future favorites. As we have grown accustomed to laughing and eating together, you can be sure our lunch rides and dinner meets will continue too.

I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the great members of Burlington Harley Riders and also thank you for your continued support. You've made my job as President so memorable and really fun to be a part of this club. Each year, I am left humbled and inspired by you all as I witness your actions and reactions to life's ups and downs.

As always, I hope everyone's travels will be as good as mine have been and I hope I can ride with each of you real soon.

In the meantime, Keep the Rubber on the Road and Keep the Shiny Side Up!
